Bitter orange opens with the particular brightness of citrus that has not been sweetened — clean, slightly sharp, entirely awake. Neroli and jasmine arrive in the heart, more complex, the floral accord that has always accompanied the serious end of orange fragrance rather than the cheerful one. The base is vanilla and ebony and bitter orange leaf — dark, grounded, the part of the fragrance that stays after everything brighter has dissolved.

It’s definitely more expensive than a basic car freshener, but I also don’t think of it as the same kind of product. The design and scent feel much more considered.
I drive about 40 minutes each way for work and this has become one of those small things I actually notice during the commute.
This doesn’t smell like the usual hanging car fresheners. It feels much closer to a home fragrance or perfume-style scent.
I notice it most when I get back into the car after it’s been parked for a while. The car smells clean and intentional without being too perfumed.
If you like very sweet florals, this probably isn’t that. It feels cleaner and greener to me, which is exactly why I liked it.
I’ve used luxury car diffusers before and this feels closer to that experience than to a typical vent freshener. The main difference for me is that the scent feels less synthetic.
